Who we are
Green Oaks Counselling is based on person-centred care, which means at its core, all care is tailored to meet your needs. Our style of counselling is an integrative approach of many modalities including talk therapy, interpersonal process and emotionally focused therapy. Your story is treated with the utmost care. We journey together at your pace - gently exploring your experiences, calming the chaos, making room for understanding, peace, healing, change and transformation.
The thought of counselling can feel daunting.
You might believe the myth that counselling is only for people with serious mental health issues (it’s not). Maybe you feel like you should be able to figure things out on your own - that asking for help means you’ve somehow failed (it doesn’t). Perhaps your concern feels too overwhelming to face, or too insignificant to matter. Or maybe you’re afraid that if you open up, the tears might never stop (you’re not alone in feeling that way).
Whatever you're feeling, it’s valid. Reaching out doesn’t mean you’re weak - it means you’re human and counselling could be the gentle, supportive step forward you didn’t know you needed.
What brings people to

The reasons one might seek counselling are varied, such as, but not limited to:
-
You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck in low moods, or constantly on edge—counselling can help you understand what’s going on and begin to find relief.

When the pace of life leaves you exhausted and emotionally drained, counselling offers space to slow down, reset, and build healthier ways of coping.
-
Whether you’re facing conflict, communication challenges, or feeling distant from those you love, counselling can support you in navigating relationship dynamics with clarity and care.
-
Loss can shake your world in quiet or profound ways—counselling provides a gentle space to process your grief and begin healing at your own pace.
-
If you’re struggling with inner criticism or a constant sense of “not enough,” counselling can help you rebuild confidence and reconnect with your sense of worth.
-
A diagnosis or physical setback can impact not just your body but your identity, emotions, and relationships - counselling helps you process the journey and find strength within it.
-
Big changes - wanted or unwanted - can leave you feeling unsteady; counselling offers support and perspective as you adjust and move forward.
